IgG fraction from rabbit polyclonal antibody obtained by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide (NATGGDDPRNAAGGCERE) corresponding to amino acids 81 - 98 of human Parkin. The IgG fraction was purified using Protein G-Sepharose.

  • Storage: Store at -20°C.
  • Stability: Stable at least one year at -20°C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
  • Biological activity: This polyclonal antibody reacts in ELISA and Western Blot using the immunizing peptide. Parkin is a ubiquitin-protein ligase (E3) involved in the ubiquitin proteasomal pathway by participating in the removal of abnormally folded or damage protein. It is highly expressed in the brain, including the substancia nigra, and is also expressed in other tissues (heart, testis, skeletal muscle). Mutations in the parkin gene causing loss of E3 activity are responsible for autosomal recessive juvenile Parkinson's disease.
  • Formulation: Solution at 1 mg/mL in PBS. Some of the liquid in the vial could have evaporated with changes in the final volume. However, the mass of the protein is still inside the vial.
