$425.00
IgG fraction from rabbit polyclonal antibody obtained by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide (MDGSGEQPRGGGPTSSEQIMK) corresponding to amino acids 1 - 21 of human Bax. The IgG fraction was purified using Protein G-Sepharose.
- Storage: Store at -20°C.
- Stability: Stable at least one year at -20°C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
- Biological activity: This polyclonal antibody reacts in ELISA using the immunizing peptide and it recognizes two protein bands corresponding to 20 (monomer) and 40 kDa (dimer) of Bcl-2 in Western Blot of HL-60 cell lysate. Bax belongs to Bcl-2 protein family and accelerates the apoptosis by binding to the repressor Bcl-2. It can form oligomers and targets mitochondrial membrane inducing an increase in the membrane permeability which leads to the release of cytochrome c from mitochondria and the activation of the caspase pathway. Bax is considered a tumor suppressor.
- Formulation: Solution at 1 mg/mL in PBS. Some of the liquid in the vial could have evaporated with changes in the final volume. However, the mass of the protein is still inside the vial.
