Cullins (1, 2, 3, 4a, 5 and 7) are a family of proteins that assemble a large number of ubiquitin ligases to catalyse polyubiquitiation, as well as binding to various specific factors to recruit substrates. Cullin 2 (CUL 2) is a component of E3 ubiquitin ligase complexes which controls the proteolysis of G1 cell cycle regulatory proteins.
