It recognizes CD2 (also known as LFA-2, or E-rosette receptor), a 50 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on T cells, NK cells, cortical thymocytes and most malignant cells of T cell origin. It binds CD58 (LFA-3) to mediate cell adhesion and it is also receptor for CD59, and CD48.
