Human M-CSF is produced in genetically engineered E. coli cells, and purified by sequential chromatography, refolding and HPLC. This polypeptide is a disulfide-linked dimeric protein (1).
- Molecular weight: 55 kDa
- Purity: Over 92% pure by amino acid composition and SDS gel electrophoresis.
- Storage: Store at -20°C.
- Stability: Several months at -20°C. It is less stable in a solution of a pH lower than 5.
- Biological activity: The biological activity of human M-CSF is measured by the mouse bone marrow colony-forming assay (2). The specific activity is 6 X 107 U/mg.
- Formulation: M-CSF is at 1 mg/mL in 0.1% Mannitol, 0.1M Citrate (pH 6.5)
