Vibrio anguillarum is a Gram-negative, curve rod-shaped, motile by a single polar flagellum and facultative anaerobic bacterium. It is the causative agent of vibriosis which is characterized by a terminal haemorrhagic septicemia and is associated with high mortality rates in salmonids and non-salmonids species.
