DescriptionMouse monoclonal antibody IgG fraction (clone 3H7/E1) obtained by immunizing mice with a purified IgM fraction from Coho salmon (Oncorthynchus kisutch) sera. The IgG fraction was purified using Protein G-Sepharose.
IsotypeIgG-1
StorageStore at -20ºC.
StabilityStable at least one year at -20ºC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Biological ActivityThis antibody can be used in ELISA assay (1: 100 dilution) and it has cross reactivity with atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) and rainbow trout (Oncorthynchus myskiss). IgM is the only immunoglobulin class described in salmonids. It circulates throughout the fish body and performs the functions of complement fixation and opsonization. Salmonid IgM is a tetramer characterized by different degree of disulfide polymerization with identical binding sites. The heavy and light chains have a molecular mass of 70 and 25 kDa respectively determined by PAGE-SDS under reducing conditions. The tetramer is 780 kDa determined by gel filtration.
FormulationSolution at 1.0 mg/mL in PBS. Some of the liquid in the vial could have evaporated with changes in the final volume. However, the mass of the protein is still inside the vial.
